HighTechCville has a focus on a specific geographical area: Charlottesville Virginia! But the website itself didn’t supply any structured data regarding it’s focus… You as a human could infer it, but making that machine readable wasn’t in the cards.

I recently stumbled across GeoURL.org, a site that collects data about websites that are geographically specific. You can find all the other sites close to HighTechCville in “meat space” by following this link: http://geourl.org/near?p=www.hightechcville.com/

If you look at the source for HTC you’ll see two somewhat cryptic meta tags:

     meta name="ICBM" content="38.032125, -78.477519"
    meta name="DC.title" content="HighTechCville"

This locate HighTechCville in meat space. I’m now looking at something that will look for High tech websites based on their being close to HTC.
